About Me

Welcome to Matlock Podiatry. My name is Abigail Horridge, BSc (Hons) and I am a fully qualified podiatrist registered with the health and care professions council (HCPC). I started working for Derbyshire community health services (DCHS) in 2018 as a podiatry assistant alongside my university studies. I qualified in 2020 with a 1st class degree achieving the Deans award for excellent academic achievement.

Since qualifying I have worked full time as a podiatrist for the NHS and now work as a band 7 highly specialised diabetes podiatrist. I have a vast amount of experience in the early detection and management of foot health complications with a focus to prevent lower limb amputation. I am now developing my career further by expanding into the world of private practice.

I love to spend my spare time outdoors. You will regularly find me clocking up the milage by hiking across the landscapes of the mosaic peak district. When I’m not outside I like to spend time at home with my husband and my beautiful cats Ernie and Enid.

Benefits of seeing a podiatrist

Our feet take us miles and miles over the course of our lifetime, and we often neglect to give them the care and attention they truly deserve. Our feet undoubtedly are a remarkable structure however as with all great architecture they need regular maintenance to ensure problems do not develop.

Ignoring pain in your feet often leads to worsening symptoms and can seriously impact your daily life and long-term mobility. The quicker you see us, the quicker we can help get you back on your feet and do the things you love.

As we age, some of us will begin to lose our mobility, which can make bending down to cut our nails and manage hard skin difficult. If you can relate to this, please do not struggle anymore, come and see us at Matlock podiatry and let us help you.

Our Podiatry Blog

We have put together some useful information to help you better care for your feet. We will update our article often with help information and guides so be sure to check back often.
